Bible study resources

Here is the YouTube link to our first book club meeting. Pp 1-30 or Luther's Three Treatises.

Book club study guide for 10/29, Luther's Letter to the Christian Nobility of the German Nation

Our Bible studies are now available on our Facebook page as a live-streamed event, so you can view previous studies there.

5/3 Bible study (and service, and catechism)

4/29 Prayer Bible study 2: Prayer alone, prayer together

4/26 1 Kings 19: The greatest prophet gets depressed on the heels of victory

4/22 Bible study: Prayer lesson 1; Prayer is relationship with Christ

4/19 Bible study 1 Kings 18. Yahweh vs. Baal!
  • Handout
  • Audio file

4/12 Bible study. Here is the handout for the study on 1 Corinthians 15. We took a break from 1 Kings to consider the longest section of scripture devoted to the resurrection.
  • part 1 audio
  • part 2 audio (4/15)

4/10 I forgot to record the Bible study, but this 10 minute video on Isaiah 53 is pretty moving:

4/8 Psalm 22 - a description of Jesus on the cross from nearly 1000 years before he was born. We read and discussed together.

4/5 1 Kings 16-17, one of the most famous set of rivals in the Old Testament, the wicked king Ahab and the prophet Elijah.  Here is the handout for 16 and here is the handout for 17, which we started. For this lesson only I'm also posting the video because it might be easier to follow:
4/1: Romans 8, one of the most encouraging chapters in the Bible. No handout, but we read through and discussed the chapter together.

3/29
1 Kings 14-15. Here is the Bible study handout if you'd like to follow along. This Bible study digs into the political history of Israel more than normal. It was interesting and helpful, though not as exciting and relevant as some the following several studies.

3/25 John 9 Bible study: Jesus gives us light in this dark world!

3/22 1 Kings 12-13.
Here is the handout.
